Islamia University of Bahawalpur Partners with Rural Sustainable Development Organization to Boost Urban Forestry

Bahawalpur: The Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) has formalized a partnership with the Rural Sustainable Development Organization (RSDO) through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing urban forestry and improving environmental conditions in the area. The signing ceremony took place at the university’s Baghdad Campus.

According to The Islamia University of Bahawalpur Pakistan, the collaboration focuses on expanding urban forests to support local sustainability goals. The Department of Botany at IUB will work closely with the RSDO, facilitated by the university’s Social Work Department, to engage the community and promote active participation in environmental conservation efforts. The initiative also includes educational campaigns by students to raise awareness about forest care.

The project is part of broader efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those aimed at creating sustainable cities and communities. The involvement of various faculty members and students highlights the university’s commitment to environmental education and community engagement.
