Islamia University of Bahawalpur Champions Women’s Higher Education in South Punjab

Bahawalpur: The Islamia University of Bahawalpur has initiated a campaign to enhance awareness and promote higher education for women in South Punjab, hosting a seminar aimed at empowering local female students.

According to The Islamia University of Bahawalpur Pakistan, Prof. Dr. Yasmeen Rufi, Director of the School of State Sciences, emphasized the university’s commitment to providing substantial educational opportunities for women, highlighting the crucial role of higher education in achieving economic independence and challenging traditional societal norms. The seminar featured speakers including Prof. Dr. Qaiser Jabeen and Prof. Dr. Areeba Khan, who discussed the transformative impact of education on women’s roles in society and its contribution to fostering gender equality in the region.

Additional speakers, including social leader Ambar Tanseer and various university officials, underlined the benefits of education in developing leadership qualities and addressing community-specific issues like healthcare and gender inequality. The university plans to extend its outreach through special seminars in Bahawalnagar and Rahim Yar Khan, reinforcing the message of empowerment through knowledge.
