Islamabad Police Crack Down on Crime: 25 Arrested for Drug Peddling and Illegal Weapons Possession


Islamabad: In a significant crackdown on criminal activities, Islamabad Police have arrested 25 individuals for their involvement in drug peddling and possession of illegal weapons. This operation led to the seizure of a substantial quantity of narcotics and weaponry, underscoring the force’s commitment to curbing unlawful activities in the capital.



According to Islamabad Capital Police, coordinated raids were conducted by police teams from Aabpara, Sumbal, Tarnol, Sangjani, Industrial Area, Noon, Shams Colony, and Koral stations. These efforts resulted in the apprehension of 13 suspects directly involved in drug peddling and illegal arms handling, with police recovering 1,375 grams of heroin, 3,500 grams of hashish, 110 grams of Ice, 10 liters of liquor, two daggers, and five pistols with ammunition. Additionally, 12 absconders were arrested over the last 24 hours in a bid to dismantle local criminal networks.



Inspector General of Police, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, emphasized the ongoing dedication of Islamabad Police to safeguarding the lives and properties of citizens, stating that maintaining peace and security in Islamabad is a top priority. He assured that disruptive elements within the city would not be tolerated under his watch.



The police urge citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities through the local police stations, the emergency helpline “Pukar-15,” or the “ICT 15” app. These tools are vital for fostering a collaborative effort between the community and law enforcement to achieve a crime-free environment.
