Islamabad: The annual assembly and matami procession, Majlis Aza Bissala Chehlam Syed Al-Shahada Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS), took place today, commemorating the legacy of the captives of Karbala. The event was held under the guidance of Mourning Year Syed Irfan Kazmi at 10 AM on Sadat Street, Dhok Syedan Misrial Road, Pindi.
According to Tehreek Nafaze Fiqhe Jafariya, the gathering emphasized the enduring impact of Imam Hussain’s sacrifice and the crucial role played by his family and followers in preserving Islamic values and promoting the faith. Sayeda Labuh Haiderzaidi, a prominent speaker at the event, reflected on the profound historical and religious significance of mourning for Imam Hussain. She noted that the acts of mourning are not only a tribute to the Imam but also a protection of human values and the sanctity of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
The event highlighted the struggles faced by the captives of Karbala, particularly focusing on the resilience and leadership of Zainab bint Ali (A.S.), whose contributions were pivotal after the events of Karbala. The speakers, including Shahr Bano Naqvi Zaidi and Maimuna Rabab Kazmi, called for continued education on the events of Karbala to enlighten new generations about the sacrifices made for Islam and humanity.
