Islamabad Commemorates Martyrdom with Zul-Jinah Procession Amid Tight Security

Islamabad: The capital witnessed a significant religious observance as the annual Zul-Jinah procession, led by TNFJ chief Allama Agha Syed Hussain Maqdisi, marked the martyrdom anniversary of Hazrat Sakina bint Al Hussain. The procession, drawing a substantial crowd, moved through the city with heightened security measures, underscoring both devotion and the ongoing dialogues about religious freedoms.

According to Tehreek Nafaze Fiqhe Jafariya, the procession commenced under the patronage of Haji Ghulam Asghar Hydari Brothers Imam Bargah Qasr Qaim Al-Nazart and followed its scheduled route through key points in the city, concluding at the Imambargah. Allama Raja Basharat Hussain Emami, in his address, highlighted the profound historical and spiritual significance of Hazrat Imam Hussain’s (AS) martyrdom, while also criticizing the government’s SOPs on mourning processions, which he argued restrict basic human rights and the religious expressions.

The leaders emphasized the unity within the Muslim Ummah, echoing the sentiments from the tragedy of Karbala, advocating for cohesion rather than division. The speakers, including Allama Fakhr Abbas Abidi and other dignitaries, called for adherence to the principles demonstrated during Karbala, pointing out the timeless relevance of these lessons in today’s societal and political challenges.
