IoBM Karachi Celebrates Milestone with 1,446 Graduates at 26th Annual Convocation

Karachi, The Institute of Business Management (IoBM) in Karachi celebrated its 26th annual convocation, conferring degrees on 1,446 graduates from over 40 disciplines. The ceremony, held at the IoBM campus, was a momentous occasion for the graduating students, their families, and the faculty. It showcased the achievements of students across various fields including commerce, finance, data sciences, and entrepreneurship.

According to Institute of Business Management – Karachi, the convocation was marked by the presence of IoBM’s Chancellor Mr. Bashir Janmohammad, who delivered the welcome address, and Mr. Rizwan Ahmed Sheikh, CEO of Saudi Pak Industrial and Agricultural Investment Company and an alumnus of IoBM, who provided the keynote speech. IoBM President Mr. Talib S. Karim presented a comprehensive progress report, highlighting the institution’s advancements and contributions.

In his address, Mr. Bashir Janmohammad emphasized the importance of intellectual contribution to the nation’s progress and urged the graduates to dedicate their efforts towards the betterment of the country. The graduating batch comprised 872 Bachelor’s degree recipients, 527 Master’s degree holders, and 33 MS/M.Phil. graduates. Additionally, 14 doctoral degrees were conferred, and 47 students received merit certificates. The ceremony also celebrated academic excellence by awarding 22 gold medals to top achievers in their respective programs.

Mr. Talib S. Karim, in his progress report, reflected on IoBM’s evolution from a passion project into a leading educational entity in Pakistan. He particularly noted the achievements of the Shahjehan Syed Karim Incubation Centre (SSKIC), established in November 2020, which has incubated 20 tech-enabled startups and attracted over PKR 6 million in external funding. Karim also highlighted IoBM’s strong endowment fund, its emphasis on research through the Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC), and the balance between academic rigor and extracurricular engagement.

Valedictorian Dinah Kamal Hamidi delivered a heartfelt speech, reminiscing about her time at IoBM and the journey ahead for her and her peers. She encouraged her batchmates to recognize their exceptional capabilities and embrace the new journey that awaited them post-graduation.

Keynote speaker Rizwan Ahmed Sheikh imparted wisdom to the graduates, summarizing his secret to success with four acronyms: Dream, Create, Believe, and Achieve. He stressed the importance of discipline, consistency, and hard work as crucial elements for achieving ambitious goals.

The convocation was not just a celebration of academic achievements but also a testament to IoBM’s commitment to nurturing future leaders and innovators. It marked a new beginning for the graduates, equipped with knowledge, skills, and inspiration to make significant contributions in their respective fields.
