IIUI Recognizes Student Achievements at Sports Gala 2025

Islamabad: The International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) held its Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony for the Sports Gala 2025 at the Female Campus Auditorium, celebrating the achievements of its students in various sports disciplines.

The event was attended by Dr. Ovais, Advisor at the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Islamabad, who served as the Chief Guest. Also present were Prof. Dr. Amna Mehmood, In-Charge Female Campus, Dr. Rukhsana Tariq, Students’ Advisor, and Ms. Nadia Mukhtar, Incharge Sports (Female Campus) of IIUI.

The ceremony commenced with a recitation of the Holy Quran followed by the National Anthem. Dr. Rukhsana Tariq, in her welcome address, emphasized the significance of sports in developing discipline and shaping well-rounded individuals.

Awards were distributed to students excelling in Volleyball, Basketball, Throwball, Athletics, Badminton, Table Tennis, and Futsal. The Faculty of Social Sciences was honored with the Best Faculty Award for its active participation and overall performance.

Dr. Ovais, addressing the audience, stressed the importance of balancing academics with physical activities, noting that sports foster resilience, leadership, and teamwork among students.

Prof. Dr. Amna Mehmood lauded the efforts of the Sports Office and acknowledged the achievements of IIUI’s female athletes at both university and external levels. She also commended Ms. Nadia Mukhtar for her leadership in organizing the sports initiatives.

In her closing remarks, Ms. Nadia Mukhtar expressed gratitude to the administration, faculty, and students for their support in making the event a success.
