Islamabad: The International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) convened a meeting of its Special Committee on Emerging Technologies and Digital Pakistan Initiatives, focusing on aligning the university’s academic and research programs with national strategic priorities. The session, chaired by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed, aimed to synchronize the university’s efforts with the government’s Digital Pakistan and INSPIRE initiatives.
According to International Islamic University Islamabad, the meeting highlighted the responsibilities of educational institutions in supporting national initiatives through strategic curriculum alignment, research agendas, and funding models. The committee conducted a comprehensive review of the existing academic and research programs within the Faculty of Computing and the Faculty of Engineering to evaluate their relevance and alignment with national policies.
The meeting resulted in the formation of sub-groups tasked with conducting focused assessments and providing detailed reports with recommendations. These efforts aim to develop new and revised academic and research programs that align with national digital transformation goals, supported by financial evaluations, performance indicators, and strategies to boost student enrollment.
The committee will continue its work under its approved Terms of Reference, with the goal of positioning the university to contribute effectively to national digital initiatives while ensuring academic relevance and institutional sustainability.
