Islamabad: The International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) has initiated a Green Movement Campaign to enhance environmental awareness among students and faculty. The campaign, organized by the Directorate of Student Affairs in partnership with the Faculty of Management Sciences, aims to foster sustainable practices on the university’s Female Campus.
The event, led by Dr. Sadia Nazar, was officially launched by Dr. Amna Mahmood, In-Charge of the Female Campus. In her opening remarks, Dr. Mahmood praised the organizers for their dedication to environmental issues and encouraged students to remain active in conservation efforts.
Prominent faculty members, including Dr. Ruksana Tariq, Students’ Advisor, and Dr. Hameeda Akhtar, Deputy Student Advisor, participated in the campaign. The initiative also saw involvement from Dr. Tahira Awan, head of the Department of Accounting, Finance and Commerce, alongside numerous students who joined in a plantation drive.
The primary objective of the campaign is to increase awareness of environmental protection and inspire the university community to integrate sustainable and eco-friendly practices into their daily lives. By emphasizing the significance of green initiatives, the event seeks to instill a sense of collective responsibility for a healthier planet and a more sustainable future.
