Clothing Department and Shahkam Industries Forge Partnership for Academic-Industrial Collaboration

Lahore: The Department of Clothing has formalized a partnership with Shahkam Industries, Lahore, through a Memorandum of Understanding signed on April 14, 2025. This agreement aims to enhance collaboration between industry and academia, offering a range of opportunities for students and professionals.

The MoU was signed by key representatives from both parties, including Dr. M Qamar Khan, Chairman of the Department of Clothing, and Mr. M Khurram Khan, General Manager of HR and Sustainability at Shahkam Industries. Also present were Dr. M Tauseef Khawar, Assistant Professor at the Department of Clothing, and Mr. Tauseef Raza, Senior Deputy Manager of HR at Shahkam Industries.

The collaboration seeks to facilitate student internships, supervised industrial training, and industrial tours. Additionally, it will support research projects, consultancy services, training programs, technical sessions, and joint workshops or seminars.

The agreement underscores the commitment to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical industry experience, fostering a mutually beneficial relationship between both sectors.
