IIUI Female Campus Unites in Solidarity Walk for Palestine

Islamabad: The Female Campus of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) organized a Solidarity Walk for Palestine, demonstrating the university community’s collective support for peace and justice in the region. The event, a collaboration between the Directorate of Student Affairs and the Faculty of Usuluddin, was spearheaded by Prof. Dr. Amna Mehmood.

The procession commenced at the Fatima Block entrance, culminating at the Main Gate. Faculty, staff, and students participated, carrying Palestinian flags and placards with messages advocating for peace and freedom. The event opened with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an by a student, setting a solemn tone for the gathering.

In her address, Prof. Dr. Amna Mehmood emphasized academia’s role in promoting justice and human rights. Dr. Kiran Kayani discussed media’s crucial role in safeguarding Palestinian interests, while Dr. Taimiyah Sabiha spoke on the religious obligations of Muslims regarding the First Qibla. A student speaker highlighted the determination of Muslim girls to speak against oppression. Dr. Rukhsana Tariq, Students’ Advisor, reiterated the university’s commitment to supporting Palestine and underscored the significance of opposing injustice.

The event concluded with a special prayer led by Dr. Fouzia Saeed for the Palestinian people. Participants chanted slogans supporting Palestine, stressing the Muslim community’s responsibility to protect Al-Aqsa. The gathering ended with prayers and a united call for ongoing awareness and support for the Palestinian cause.
