IIUI Alumni Office Hosts Bangsamoro Delegation to Bolster Alumni Ties

Islamabad: The Alumni Office of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), under the leadership of Dr. Taimia Sabiha, Deputy Incharge Alumni Office, extended a warm welcome to a delegation from the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, Philippines. The visit marked a significant step in broadening the university’s global alumni network.

Dr. Taimia provided the visiting alumni with an overview of recent initiatives and developments within the Alumni Office. She announced the creation of an IIUI Alumni Chapter in the Philippines, highlighting it as a crucial move to reconnect graduates across various regions.

The delegation featured notable IIUI alumni, including Esmael W. Ebrahim, Director General of the Ministry of Human Settlements and Development, and Hisham Nando, Vice Governor of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region. Both alumni expressed their gratitude for IIUI’s efforts to enhance alumni engagement and pledged their support for future activities.

During their visit, the delegates toured the International Institute of Islamic Economics, engaging with faculty members. Prof. Dr. Arshad Ali Bhatti, Chairperson of the School of Economics, provided insights into the institute’s academic vision and achievements. The visitors recognized the institute’s strong research reputation and the global impact of its alumni.

Additionally, the delegation met with Prof. Dr. Ali Khodran Alomari, Head of the Department of Shariah, and visited the Faculties of Arabic and Usuluddin. Discussions centered around potential student exchange programs, academic cooperation, and institutional linkages.

The visit concluded with a commitment from the delegation to support IIUI’s initiatives in enhancing international academic partnerships and strengthening the newly established IIUI Alumni Chapter in the Philippines.
