ICC Announces Media Schedule for Women’s T20 World Cup 2024

Sharjah: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has outlined the media engagement opportunities for the upcoming Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, which begins with matches in Sharjah and Dubai this week. The tournament’s first match will see Bangladesh face Scotland in Sharjah, followed by Pakistan versus Sri Lanka later in the evening. South Africa will clash with the West Indies in Dubai the next day, with India against New Zealand following in the same venue.

According to International Cricket Council, media interactions will be structured around post-match conferences featuring team members from both the winning and losing sides, and are set to commence approximately 10 minutes after each match concludes. Pre-match press activities are scheduled with the teams training at the ICC Academy, including detailed sessions and media briefings led by team representatives.

Additionally, media guidelines for the event have been meticulously detailed by the ICC, outlining the protocols for filming, including the prohibition of filming on match days except in designated zones. Non-Rights Holder (NRH) media are allowed to film press conferences on non-match days but are restricted from certain activities on match days. Photographers, who are expected to wear official bibs, are given specific instructions on shooting locations and must attend pre-match briefings to receive their assignments.

The ICC also notes the importance of media accreditation, which provides access to all approved matches and must be collected in person prior to the tournament’s start. Specific venues have been designated for accreditation pick-up in both Sharjah and Dubai.
