Washington: Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party and head of Pakistan’s diplomatic mission, held an important meeting in Washington with Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove, Ranking Member of the U.S. House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on South and Central Asia.
During the meeting, Bhutto Zardari expressed appreciation for Congresswoman Kamlager-Dove’s efforts in advancing human rights. He raised concerns over India’s use of allegations to target civilians, including women and children.
Bhutto Zardari accused the Indian government of human rights violations within its borders and attempting to breach international law by targeting individuals across borders.
He pointed out India’s recent military losses in skirmishes and criticized the government for misleading its citizens with false claims of victory, thus denying them access to accurate information.
Acknowledging the United States’ role in promoting peace in South Asia, Bhutto Zardari emphasized the need for Washington to curb India’s militarism.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to strengthen bilateral cooperation between Bhutto Zardari and Congresswoman Kamlager-Dove.
