Hasan Nawaz and Mohammad Haris Propel Pakistan’s T20I Fortunes

Lahore: In an impressive display of talent and power, Hasan Nawaz and Mohammad Haris have emerged as the new stars in Pakistan cricket, each registering rapid-fire centuries in T20 Internationals. Hasan achieved the fastest T20I century for Pakistan with a 44-ball performance in Auckland, while Haris followed closely with a 45-ball century against Bangladesh in Lahore, marking a new era for the team’s batting prowess.

Hasan’s explosive century came during his third T20I match at Auckland’s Eden Park on March 21. Opening the batting alongside Haris, the pair set a new record for Pakistan by scoring 74 runs in the Powerplay, surpassing a nine-year-old record against England.

In the recent series against Bangladesh, the duo contributed significantly, scoring a combined 300 runs from 150 balls. Hasan’s T20I career has seen him accumulate 227 runs from just 118 balls. Meanwhile, Haris has amassed 370 runs in 17 T20I matches.

Their achievements come after a successful domestic season. Haris, known for his aggressive batting, made a comeback in the T20I format after stellar performances in the Champions T20 Cup and HBL PSL X. His achievements also include leading Pakistan Shaheens in several international tours.

Hasan, on the other hand, utilized the 2024-25 domestic season to regain his spot in the national team. He was instrumental in the HBL PSL X, scoring 399 runs and earning the player of the tournament accolade.

Both players have demonstrated an ability to perform under pressure, indicating promising careers ahead as they continue to play pivotal roles in shaping Pakistan’s T20I landscape.
