Karachi: Habib University, known for its commitment to liberal arts and sciences education, has announced that Qaima Hossain, a recent BA (Honors) Comparative Humanities graduate, has been accepted into the Ph.D. program in Comparative Literature at Stanford University.
According to Habib University, Hossain’s undergraduate career was marked by significant achievements, including minors in Communication and Design and receiving multiple academic honors such as the Dean’s List and President’s List. Her thesis, titled “Spread Your Hem; Gather Love As It Falls: A Journey Guided by Shah Jo Risalo,” won the Best Thesis Award at the university’s 2024 Awards Night, where she was also honored with the President’s Medal for her exceptional cumulative GPA.
Beyond her academic successes, Hossain contributed to campus life as Vice President of the Arts and Cultural Club, head of the Poetry Circle, and a member of the IHP Advisory Council. Her involvement in these activities reflects the university’s ethos of fostering holistic development in its students.
