Government to Boost Youth Development and Job Opportunities, Rana Mashhood Announces

Karachi: Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Program, emphasized the potential benefits of the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) programs for Pakistan, highlighting the government’s plans to leverage these for economic improvement next year. Speaking at Dow University during his address to faculty and students, he outlined several initiatives aimed at empowering the youth and expanding employment opportunities both locally and internationally.

According to Dow University of Health Sciences, Khan detailed the government’s commitment to nurturing the country’s youth, which comprises 65% of Pakistan’s population. He noted the significant demand for nursing staff worldwide, particularly in Arab countries, and announced plans to train up to 1.5 million youths annually. During his visit, Khan inspected the facilities at the Youth Development Center established at the university and discussed various initiatives designed to support young Pakistanis.

These initiatives include providing one million rupees as an interest-free loan to assist trained youths with employment-related expenses abroad. He also announced that the government would distribute laptops to young entrepreneurs and stated that 40 out of 100 entrepreneurial ideas from last year’s incubation centers are set for patenting. Additionally, Khan touched on efforts to enhance sports through the construction of ten new sports academies and the restoration of departmental sports. His speech also addressed environmental challenges, outlining the Green Youth Movement aimed at combating climate change effects through national and community-led initiatives.
