Fazl’s Anti-Military Remarks Criticized by PTI’s Arslan Khalid

KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Karachi General Secretary Arslan Khalid has denounced Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F), for his recent critical statements against the military, attributing them to political frustration and a loss of power.

According to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Khalid described Maulana Fazlur Rehman's sudden anti-establishment stance as a political maneuver. He emphasized Maulana's role in the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), which sought to oust Imran Khan's government. Khalid questioned Maulana's current advocacy for democracy, citing past actions for personal gain.

Khalid noted Maulana's refusal to join the 'Tehreek-e-Tahafuz-e-Aein-e-Pakistan', an alliance formed to uphold democratic values, as indicative of his opportunistic approach. He accused Maulana of using derogatory language against national institutions and diminishing the sacrifices of martyrs, suggesting this reflected his waning political influence.

The PTI leader asserted that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Karachi have already rejected Maulana's politics, affirming PTI's respect for national defense institutions and martyrs. Khalid concluded by stating that PTI would not permit the use of defense institutions in political controversies for individual gain.
