Lahore, In a move to foster collaborative ties and reorganize its federation, the Federation of All Pakistan Universities Non-Teaching Staff Association (FAPUNTSA) is sending a four-member delegation to a conference at Karachi University. Led by President Chaudhry Basharat Mahmood, the delegation’s visit to Sindh will include meetings with university employers’ unions and participation in various programs.
According to University of The Punjab, the FAPUNTSA delegation comprises Secretary General Tayyab Ijaz Khan Swati, President Federation of Punjab Province Tanveer Ahmad Awan, and Chaudhry Usman Jatt. The group is scheduled to engage with members of the Universities Employees Union from Sukkur, Larkana, and Jacobabad in a significant meeting at Sukkur, with Chairman Sindh Universities Federation Noor Muhammad and other officials in attendance.
In Karachi, the delegation will hold discussions with key figures including Muhammad Irfan and Shahid, the President and Secretary General of the National Labour Federation of Sindh. Meetings are also arranged with representatives from Sindh Jinnah Medical University Karachi, NED University, and other educational institutions in Hyderabad, as well as Lyari University and Dow Engineering University, to deliberate on the constitution of the university employees and the federation.
Additionally, the delegation will connect with prominent labor leaders in the region, such as Chairman V Trust Professor Shafi Malik and President National Labor Federation Karachi Khalid Khan. These interactions aim to strengthen the network and support among non-teaching staff across the province’s universities.
The visit will culminate in a seminar at the University of Karachi, where the delegation will join presidents and secretaries of associations from all universities in Sindh Province. This event is poised to be a significant platform for discussing issues pertinent to university employees and furthering the mission of FAPUNTSA.
