England’s Josh Hull Out of Pakistan Test Series Due to Injury

Multan: England’s cricket team faces a setback as Josh Hull, the young left-arm fast bowler, will miss the upcoming Test series in Pakistan due to a quad injury sustained during the third Test against Sri Lanka at The Oval. Hull, who had debuted this month, will not be replaced in the squad, leaving the team to rely on its existing fast bowlers.

According to International Cricket Council, Hull was injured while playing his debut series where he took three wickets against Sri Lanka but sustained a quad injury that has ruled him out of the subsequent series. His absence leaves a significant gap in England’s bowling lineup, which includes Chris Woakes, Matthew Potts, Olly Stone, Gus Atkinson, and Brydon Carse as the primary options for the Pakistan series.

The series, starting October 7 in Multan, poses additional challenges as captain Ben Stokes, recovering from a torn hamstring, may be limited in his bowling capabilities in the initial matches. England hopes to have Stokes back in his dual role as a batsman and bowler later in the series.

England’s 16-member squad heading to Pakistan includes notable players like Ben Stokes, who will captain the team, along with Joe Root, Jack Leach, and Ollie Pope. The teams will play three Tests with the second and third matches scheduled in the same sequence at Multan and Rawalpindi, underscoring a rigorous tour for the visitors.
