England Announces Test Squad for Pakistan Tour, Stokes Returns

London: England’s cricket team has announced a robust 17-member squad for the upcoming ICC World Test Championship series against Pakistan in October, featuring the return of team captain Ben Stokes after a hamstring injury and the inclusion of two uncapped players.

According to International Cricket Council, Ben Stokes, who missed the home series against Sri Lanka due to a hamstring tear, is set to lead the squad, which also sees the return of opener Zak Crawley after his recovery from a fractured finger. The team will be further strengthened with the inclusion of newcomers Brydon Carse and Jordan Cox. Additionally, Josh Hull, who made his debut in the last Test against Sri Lanka, retains his place for his first overseas tour.

The spin attack is bolstered with Shoaib Bashir, Rehan Ahmed, and Jack Leach, all returning to the squad. The series venues will be announced by the Pakistan Cricket Board later this week, with the first Test scheduled for October 7.
