Dr. Fowzia Siddiqui Calls for Unity and Valuing Independence at Karachi Rally

Karachi: Dr. Fowzia Siddiqui, chairperson of the Global Aafia Movement and a renowned neurophysician, emphasized the importance of valuing independence during the ‘Free Aafia – Independence Day rally’ held at Five Stars Chowrangi in North Nazimabad.

According to Aafia Movement, the rally marked Pakistan’s Independence Day with significant participation from various political and social groups including Pasban Democratic Party, Muslim Students Organisation, and many others. Dr. Siddiqui highlighted the challenges Pakistan is currently facing, urging unity to overcome adversities and resist external conspiracies.

Dr. Siddiqui also brought attention to the plight of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui, a Pakistani citizen imprisoned in the U.S. for the past 21 years, questioning the fairness of her prolonged incarceration. She called upon the Pakistani government to intensify efforts for Dr. Aafia’s release, stressing the constitutional and moral obligations to support its citizens. The rally culminated with the national anthem and prayers for the nation’s prosperity and the expedited release of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui.
