Dow University Advocates for Collaborative Allied Healthcare at International Event

Karachi: Pro-Vice Chancellor Dow University of Health Sciences Professor Dr. Jahan Ara Hassan emphasized the importance of collaboration among allied healthcare professionals to enhance the healthcare system during a panel discussion held at A.Q Khan Auditorium, DIMC-DUHS. The event, which marked the International Day of Allied Health Professions, assembled 10 distinguished experts from various disciplines to explore future healthcare innovations and best practices.

According to Dow University of Health Sciences, the session, organized by The School of Dental Care Professionals in collaboration with the Association of Health Professionals Globally (AHPG), featured leaders from Biotechnology, Medical Technology, Radiology, Pharmacology, and more, discussing the integration of specialized fields under one educational umbrella. Dr. Hassan highlighted that effective collaboration among these diverse professionals is crucial for a standardized and efficient healthcare system.

Prof. Dr. Sameer Qureshi, Principal of Dow Institute of Medical Technology, shared insights from his early career and stressed the significant demand for allied health professionals, not only in Pakistan but globally. He advocated for the expansion of educational programs to meet these growing needs.

Dr. Ambrina Qureshi, Principal of School of Dental Care Professionals, discussed the critical link between oral health and overall health, urging for the integration of AI and modern technologies in dental care to enhance patient outcomes.

The panel also delved into the increasing role of AI, telemedicine, and nutritional sciences within healthcare. Dr. Samira Naseem, Director of Nutritional Sciences Program, noted the growing recognition of nutritionists and their pivotal role in preventing lifestyle-related diseases.

The event concluded with a session where Dr. Tayyaba Aamir, Director of Admissions at DUHS, praised the comprehensive educational offerings at Dow University, which equip students with the skills needed to excel in various allied health fields. Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr. Jahan Ara Hasan awarded certificates to the panelists, underscoring the university’s commitment to fostering a collaborative healthcare environment.
