Cricket World Cup 2027 Schedule Launch Announced with Global Broadcast Options

Cape Town: Global cricket enthusiasts can look forward to the unveiling of the 2027 ICC Men's Cricket World Cup groups and full match schedule, set to be broadcast at 17:30 South Africa Standard Time on Thursday, October 1. The tournament will feature 14 teams competing across 12 venues in 57 matches, aiming for the sport's most prestigious prize.

According to International Cricket Council, the event will be broadcast live on various platforms worldwide. SuperSport will cover South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa, while JioStar will broadcast in India on JioHotstar and Star Sports channels. In addition, the ICC will stream the event globally on its YouTube channel, and Prime Video will offer it on-demand in Australia. Sky Sports, Willow, ESPN, Etisalat, Dialog, and Myco/PTV will cover the UK, USA and Canada, Caribbean, Middle East and North Africa, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan, respectively.

The Schedule Launch Show will feature renowned cricket personalities, including hosts Kass Naidoo, Jatin Sapru, and Pommie Mbangwa. Panelists such as Shaun Pollock, Aaron Finch, and Brian Lara will discuss the tournament, alongside insights from modern cricket stars Virat Kohli, Lungi Ngidi, Rohit Sharma, Aiden Markram, and 2023 World Cup-winning captain Pat Cummins.

Next year's tournament will introduce a new format, commencing with the Super Series in Windhoek on October 2, 2027, to determine the final Group Stage team. The remaining 12 teams will be divided into two groups, with the top seven advancing to the Super 7 phase. The tournament will culminate with the Final on November 21.

Fans can register for tickets via a ballot opening on October 1, 2026, coinciding with the official match schedule announcement at the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa in Cape Town. The process ensures equitable access to tickets for the tournament hosted in South Africa, Namibia, and Zimbabwe, marking Africa's largest Cricket World Cup to date. The ballot will accept entries until November 21, 2026, and all applications will be considered equally.
