Bowlers Shine in Karachi Cricket Tournament

Karachi: The second day of the PCB Regional Inter District Senior Cricket Tournament (Karachi Region) showcased impressive bowling performances by Muhammad Umar Ejaz, Taimoor Mustufa, Saifullah, Fawad Khan, and Najeebur Rehman. Kashif Raza’s batting also stood out.

At KCCA Stadium, Zone-VI ended their first innings with 349/9 and followed with 135/4 in 42 overs. Arbaz Khan scored 80, while Abdul Rehman Niazi added 40. Zone-VI leads by 305 runs overall. Zone-III, in reply, was bowled out for 179 in 60.3 overs, with Fahad Ansari contributing 77 and Shahzar Muhammad 50. Saifullah took 4/40, while Zia Ullah claimed 3/52.

At UBL Sports Complex, Zone-II posted 312/9 and was all out for 135 in 35 overs in their second innings. Muhammad Sohail Khan scored 53, supported by Tariq Bakht’s 26. Fawad Khan and Najeebur Rehman took four wickets each. Zone-VII, in response, scored 180 in 44.2 overs. Huzaifa Munir made 69, and Ghani Subhan added 49. Muhammad Umar Ejaz and Taimoor Mustufa each took five wickets. Zone-VII, chasing 267 for victory, reached 104/2 by the close, with Huzaifa Munir not out on 59 and Ghani Subhan on 32.

At Baqai Cricket Ground, Zone-V amassed 222 and 182/3 in 37 overs. Shoaib Khan remained unbeaten on 77, and M. Hasan Iqbal scored 40. Zone-V leads by 153 runs with eight wickets in hand. Zone-I, in response, scored 252 in 66.5 overs, with Kashif Raza top-scoring at 91. Fazal Subhan added 43, while Ammar Iqbal and Alman Shafiq contributed 33 and 21, respectively. Fawad Shah took 3/52, and Saifullah 2/68.
