Bosch and Litchfield Climb in ICC Women’s T20I Batting Rankings Ahead of World Cup

Dubai: As the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 approaches, South Africa’s Anneke Bosch and Australia’s Phoebe Litchfield have made significant advancements in the ICC Women’s T20I Batting Rankings, positioning themselves as key players to watch in the upcoming tournament in the United Arab Emirates from October 3 to 20.

According to International Cricket Council, Anneke Bosch’s performances, including scores of 24 and 46 in the final two matches of South Africa’s T20I series against Pakistan in Multan, have elevated her three places to joint-15th. This ranking is just one position below her career-best of 14th, achieved in December of the previous year. Meanwhile, Phoebe Litchfield, named the ICC Women’s Emerging Cricketer of the Year for 2023, jumped 20 places to a career-high 41st after a standout 64 not out off 43 balls against New Zealand in MacKay, earning her the Player of the Match title.

Other players making strides in the rankings include Chloe Tryon of South Africa, Maddy Green of Australia, and Sidra Amin of Pakistan, all benefiting from their recent performances in international matches. In the bowling rankings, Nashra Sandhu of Pakistan and Australia’s Ashleigh Gardner have also seen significant improvements, moving up to joint-seventh and ninth positions, respectively, after their successful outings in the latest T20I matches.

The rankings update, which is conducted weekly on Tuesdays, reflects the ongoing shifts in player standings as they prepare for the global competition in the UAE.
