Islamabad: Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, speaking in Islamabad, outlined the objectives of Pakistan’s diplomatic mission to major global capitals, emphasizing the need for peaceful resolutions to long-standing regional conflicts, particularly the Kashmir dispute and the emerging water crisis.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, head of the diplomatic delegation, underscored Pakistan’s commitment to peace, both regionally and globally. He highlighted that enduring issues like the Kashmir conflict and terrorism must be addressed to achieve lasting peace. He warned of the potential for escalating tensions, referencing a recent dangerous conflict between nuclear-armed nations following a terrorist incident.
Bilawal expressed concern over India’s use of water as a geopolitical tool, drawing attention to the issue on the international stage. He compared this to global condemnation of Israel’s actions in Gaza and Palestine, stressing that water should not become another flashpoint.
The Chairman cautioned that unresolved issues could lead to a more severe conflict between Pakistan and India, urging that the longstanding Kashmir dispute should not be compounded by water disputes. He reiterated the diplomatic mission’s goal to communicate Pakistan’s message to governments, parliamentarians, media, civil society, and the global populace.
He praised the Foreign Office for its proactive role during the recent crisis and affirmed Pakistan’s peaceful intentions. Bilawal highlighted Pakistan’s offer for an impartial international inquiry into accusations made by India, noting India’s refusal of the offer and emphasizing Pakistan’s defensive and responsible conduct.
Bilawal stated that the international community has recognized Pakistan’s responsible actions, contrasting it with what he described as India’s divisive propaganda. He called for sustainable peace through dialogue, addressing the Kashmir issue, terrorism, and the water crisis.
Concluding his remarks, Bilawal expressed hope for future generations in Pakistan and India to choose truth and peace, urging India to engage in dialogue for a peaceful resolution.
