Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Reaffirms Commitment to Democracy on International Day

Karachi: On the eve of the International Day of Democracy, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has reaffirmed his commitment to promoting democratic values, human rights, and inclusive governance across Pakistan.

According to Pakistan Peoples Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s statement emphasized the foundational role of democracy in ensuring that every citizen’s voice is not only heard but also respected and protected. He outlined the necessity for continual efforts towards strengthening democracy through the rule of law, robust institutions, and protection of rights against oppression.

The PPP Chairman aligned with this year’s United Nations theme for the International Day of Democracy, focusing on the governance of artificial intelligence. He stressed the importance of ensuring that AI development is consistent with democratic values and serves to enhance transparency and accountability in governance.

In his message, Bilawal also highlighted the historical role of PPP in championing democracy, invoking the legacies of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto. He called upon the youth of Pakistan to actively participate in democratic processes, describing them as crucial to the nation’s future in governance.
