KARACHI: Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has paid tribute to the martyrs of the Karsaz tragedy on their 18th martyrdom anniversary, acknowledging their courage, loyalty, and sacrifice for democracy and the people of Pakistan.
A statement from the Media Cell Bilawal House highlighted that October 18, 2007, remains a significant day for the nation. It was a day when over three million people welcomed the return of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, and 180 individuals lost their lives defending the dream of a democratic Pakistan.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari emphasized that the forces of dictatorship and terrorism conspired against the hopes of the people through a targeted attack on Benazir Bhutto’s convoy. He noted that while the attackers aimed to quash democratic aspirations, the sacrifice of the martyrs only strengthened the resolve for democracy.
The PPP Chairman reiterated his commitment to continue the mission of Benazir Bhutto and the martyrs of Karsaz, aiming to establish a Pakistan rooted in democracy, equality, and justice. He affirmed that the sacrifices made continue to guide the path toward a peaceful and prosperous nation.
