KARACHI: Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has paid tribute to 16 party workers who died on September 29, 1983, in Punhal Khan Chandio village of Shaheed Benazirabad district during the Movement for the Restoration of Democracy (MRD).

According to a press release issued by Media Cell Bilawal House, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari highlighted the sacrifices made by Shaheed Tharo Chandio, Shaheed Rajab Ali Chandio, Shaheed Ali Sher Chandio, and others, emphasizing their dedication to the people's right to rule, the Constitution, and democracy. He noted that during a period of dictatorship, PPP workers opted for peaceful democratic resistance instead of submitting to oppression.

Chairman Bhutto Zardari reiterated that the sacrifices of these martyrs are an integral part of the country's democratic journey. He remarked that the martyrs of Punhal Khan Chandio village are a lasting symbol of the struggle for democracy, with their names serving as a guiding light for future generations.
