Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Highlights Economic Impact of Iran War on Pakistan

KARACHI: In a recent video message to the nation, Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, expressed concerns about the economic effects of the ongoing Iran war, emphasizing its impact on Pakistan, where citizens are facing increasing inflation.

According to a press release from Media Cell Bilawal House, Bhutto Zardari detailed the federal government's initial response to the conflict, which included a 50 percent subsidy. He mentioned that the central government also called upon provincial administrations to offer additional support, resulting in subsidies for transporters at the provincial level.

Further, Bhutto Zardari highlighted specific initiatives by the Government of Sindh, such as financial support to 330,000 small farmers through the Benazir Hari Card, the introduction of a Peoples Fuel Subsidy for 140,000 motorcycle riders, and the provision of free solar kits to those living below the poverty line. He underscored Sindh's commitment to providing relief amid the current economic difficulties.

The PPP Chairman also noted ongoing efforts by Pakistan's leadership to maintain the ceasefire and work towards ending the war, aiming to alleviate the economic challenges faced by the nation.
