Karachi, Bahria University Health Sciences Campus Islamabad (BUHSCI) has opened bidding for the supply and installation of passive network equipment, indicating a major infrastructure upgrade focused on improving its data center and network capabilities. The initiative calls for detailed technical and financial bids from GST-registered firms and suppliers, aiming to enhance the campus’s network efficiency and capability.
According to Bahria University, the tender documents outline a comprehensive list of equipment and services required, including high-grade cabling, patch panels, optical fibers, and various categories of racks and electrical requirements for data centers and NOC/SOC rooms. The university has placed an emphasis on quality, specifying that equipment must be new, unused, and from reputable brands capable of providing seamless network coverage throughout the campus.
The bid submission includes a single-stage two-envelope procedure in line with PPRA Rules 2004, with a deadline set for 29 February 2024. Technical scrutiny will be based on OEM brochures, and the selected vendor is expected to provide installation, testing, and end-user training as part of the quoted prices. Bahria University retains the right to reject any or all proposals, as per their stipulated conditions and PPRA Rule 33.
Bidders are required to ensure compliance with stringent technical specifications, quality standards, and certifications, including a minimum of a three-year comprehensive warranty. The university has also outlined the need for bidder qualifications such as ISO certification, a local office in Islamabad, and a history of successful installations within Pakistan.
