Karachi: In the inaugural Asif Mahmood Memorial Junior District Club Cricket Tournament, Abu Rehan Cricket Club secured a decisive win against Young Fighter Cricket Club, advancing to the next round. The tournament, organized by the Regional Cricket Association Karachi Zone One, witnessed a standout performance by Muhammad Azlan, who scored an unbeaten 104 runs, helping his team post a competitive total.
The match, held at the Young Fighter Ground, saw Abu Rehan Cricket Club batting first and amassing 246 runs for seven wickets in their allotted 40 overs. Azlan’s century came with the support of 16 boundaries and a six, while Hamza Saleem contributed significantly with a half-century. Muhammad Ali added 14 runs to the tally. Young Fighter’s bowling was spearheaded by Mirza Ammar, who claimed three wickets, and Ahmed Khan, who took two.
In response, Young Fighter Cricket Club struggled to chase the target, being bowled out for 147 runs in 29.4 overs. Zubair’s 51 and Shayan’s 37 were not enough to steer their team to victory. Muhammad Hammad’s exceptional bowling, taking four wickets for just 12 runs, played a crucial role in restricting the opposition. Inshal Nawab, Muhammad Azlan, and Faraz Ahmed also contributed with wickets to ensure Abu Rehan’s triumph.
