Austrian Ambassador Bids Farewell to Pakistan, Focus Shifts to Future Cooperation

Islamabad: The outgoing Ambassador of Austria to Pakistan, Mrs. Andrea Wicke, concluded her diplomatic tenure with a farewell meeting with President Asif Ali Zardari at Aiwan-e-Sadr. During the meeting, President Zardari commended Ambassador Wicke’s efforts in fostering bilateral cooperation between the two nations.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also attended the meeting, where discussions centered on enhancing trade and economic ties. President Zardari emphasized the importance Pakistan places on its relationship with Austria and highlighted opportunities for collaboration, particularly in tourism and technology.

The President invited Austrian investment in Pakistan’s tourism sector, specifically in alpine tourism, leveraging Austria’s expertise in this field. He also pointed to Pakistan’s skilled workforce in the IT sector, suggesting that Austrian companies could benefit from this resource.

President Zardari congratulated Ambassador Wicke on the successful completion of her assignment and extended his best wishes for her future endeavors.
