Dubai: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the nominees for the Men's Player of the Month for October 2026, highlighting outstanding performances from Marco Jansen of South Africa, Arafat Minhas of Pakistan, and Shai Hope of the West Indies. Each player made significant contributions to their respective teams across various formats, showcasing their skills on the international stage.
According to International Cricket Council, Marco Jansen played a pivotal role in South Africa's 2-1 series victory against Australia in the ICC World Test Championship. Jansen's all-round capabilities were on full display, most notably during the second Test at Gqeberha, where he scored 85 runs and took six wickets, leading to a substantial innings and 31-run win for his team. He continued to impress with another half-century and three wickets in the decisive third Test, contributing to South Africa's series comeback. His performances propelled him to the top of the ICC Men's Test All-Rounder Rankings.
Arafat Minhas emerged as a key player for Pakistan in their home ODI tri-series, delivering crucial performances with both the bat and ball. He was instrumental in Pakistan's victory over England, scoring a vital 59 runs and achieving bowling figures of 6/40, marking the second-best ODI bowling figures by a Pakistani on home ground. Minhas continued his form in the final against Sri Lanka, scoring an aggressive 61 off 31 balls to help Pakistan secure the series title. His efforts throughout the tournament earned him the Player of the Series accolade.
Shai Hope of the West Indies demonstrated exceptional batting prowess against India in both the ODI and T20I series. Hope's standout performance came in the third ODI in New Chandigarh, where he scored an unbeaten 162 to lead the West Indies to their highest-ever successful ODI run chase of 352. He maintained his form in the T20I series, registering two centuries, including an unbeaten 102 off 50 balls in the fourth match, finishing the series with 261 runs at a strike rate of 190.51.
