CWC 2027 Ticket Applications Exceed One Million, Reflecting High Demand

Johannesburg: Ticket applications for the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2027 have surpassed one million within just three days of opening, highlighting substantial global interest in the event. More than 320,000 fans have registered for the ballot, submitting applications for matches across South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia. The tournament is set to feature 14 leading international teams.

According to International Cricket Council, the India vs. Pakistan match on October 10 has drawn the highest demand, with over 100,000 applications. Following closely are the South Africa vs. India match with more than 86,000 applications and India vs. Australia with over 80,000. The pre-seeded Super 7 fixture between India and Pakistan on November 7 has attracted nearly 75,000 applications, making it the fourth most sought-after match. Additionally, the final on November 21 has garnered almost 65,000 applications.

The ICC has introduced a ticket ballot to accommodate the growing excitement, providing fans globally the chance to attend the tournament. Ticket prices range from approximately $9.62 to $31.31, with special pricing available for families, students, and local groups. ICC CEO Sanjog Gupta emphasized the significance of the event returning to Africa, underscoring its potential to expand fandom across diverse communities.
