Cape Town: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has unveiled the fixture schedule for the Men's Cricket World Cup 2027, with the tournament set to commence on October 2 in Windhoek. The competition will kick off with a three-team Super Series to determine the final Group Stage team, followed by the Group Stage beginning on October 7 in Cape Town, featuring a marquee clash between defending champions Australia and India.
According to International Cricket Council, the tournament will feature 14 teams, including co-hosts South Africa and Zimbabwe, who qualified directly alongside the top eight teams from the ICC Men's ODI Team Rankings as of September 30, 2026. The remaining four spots will be filled through the Cricket World Cup Qualifier, with the top three teams from each group advancing to the Super 7 phase. The Super 7 stage will see seven teams compete from October 25 to November 14, with pre-seeded positions to help fans plan travel and attendance.
The much-anticipated India-Pakistan match is scheduled for October 10 in Johannesburg, while the new Victoria Falls ground will host its first World Cup match when India faces Zimbabwe. The semi-finals are set for November 17 in Cape Town and November 18 in Tshwane, with the final on November 21 in Johannesburg. The ICC has also opened the ticket ballot, with prices starting at USD $9.62, and has made special pricing arrangements to ensure accessibility for families and local communities.
