GreenVET Renewable Energy Challenge 2026 Conference Highlights Youth Empowerment and Innovation

LAHORE: A regional conference under the GreenVET Renewable Energy Challenge 2026 convened at the University of Engineering and Technology Lahore, spotlighting renewable energy, youth innovation, and entrepreneurship. The event was held in partnership with the Prime Minister's Youth Programme and the Green Youth Movement.

According to University of Engineering and Technology, the conference gathered representatives from the Prime Minister's Youth Programme, Higher Education Commission, UNICEF, and other institutions, alongside experts, faculty members, and students. Chairman of the Prime Minister's Youth Programme, Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, emphasized the initiative's objective to equip Pakistan's youth with modern skills and economic opportunities. He announced funding for business startups at UET Lahore, signaling government support for viable business proposals from university students.

Vice Chancellor UET Lahore, Professor Dr. Shahid Munir, highlighted the university's recovery from previous crises and its commitment to further progress. He noted the university's aim to foster an environment conducive to research, innovation, and entrepreneurship, particularly in renewable energy. The conference featured expert addresses, panel discussions, and exhibitions, underscoring the potential for youth-driven solutions in green technology and sustainable development, aligning with national economic growth goals.
