Nagoya: The Pakistan men's squash team has progressed to the semi-finals of the Team Event at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya 2026, following a decisive victory over South Korea. Meanwhile, the women's team has been eliminated from the competition.
According to Pakistan Squash Federation, the men's team secured their semi-final berth with a 2-0 win in the quarterfinals. Muhammad Ashab Irfan and Noor Zaman delivered commanding performances, with Irfan defeating Na Joo-Young with scores of 11-5, 11-8, 11-8 in 33 minutes, and Zaman overcoming Oh Sung-Hee 11-4, 11-5, 8-11, 11-2 in 30 minutes.
In contrast, the women's team faced a setback in their Stage 1 Round Robin match against China, losing 2-1. Mahnoor Ali was defeated by Liu Ziqi in straight games, while Sana Bahadar secured a victory against Zhang Yiwen. However, Sehrish Ali was unable to overcome Yin Z, resulting in an overall loss for the team.
The Pakistan men's team is scheduled to face Hong Kong, China, in the semi-finals tomorrow at the Nagoya Kinjo Futo Arena, with the match set to begin at 12:30 PM JST (08:30 AM PST).
