LAHORE: The "Free Linguistics Conference 2026" was organized by the Department of English Language and Linguistics at the Institute of Education and Research, University of the Punjab. This event aimed to enhance intellectual collaboration and academic networking among various institutions.

According to University of the Punjab, the conference featured a significant presentation by Professor Ahmer Mahboob from the University of Sydney. He introduced a conceptual framework urging participants to view the conference as an action-oriented platform for engaging in dialogue to address real-world problems. This perspective was well-received by the attendees. Professor Dr. Muhammad Ali, Vice Chancellor of the University of the Punjab, praised this innovative approach and emphasized the commitment to making future conferences more effective in generating tangible solutions to the country's challenges.
