Lahore: The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore has inaugurated the renovated Ali Mardan Hall, a historic building on its campus, following a restoration project that cost approximately Rs. 92 million. The hall, which consists of 107 rooms, has been converted from a boys' hostel into a girls' hostel, enhancing residential facilities for female students. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir led the inauguration ceremony.

According to University of Engineering and Technology, the decision to preserve and restore the Ali Mardan Hall reflects the administration's commitment to maintaining the historical assets of the university while adapting them to modern needs. Prof. Dr. Munir emphasized the importance of protecting the university's historic infrastructure and making it functional for contemporary requirements. The restoration project aligns with the university’s broader efforts to improve campus facilities, including upgrading hostels and enhancing the academic environment for students.
