Dubai: India pacer Kranti Gaud has been fined 10 percent of her match fee for breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct during the Women's Asia Cup final against Sri Lanka. According to International Cricket Council, Gaud violated Article 2.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct, which pertains to the use of language, actions, or gestures that disparage or could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter upon dismissal during an international match.

The breach occurred in the first over of Sri Lanka's innings when Gaud gestured toward the pavilion after dismissing opener Imesha Dulani. Gaud admitted to the offense and accepted the sanction proposed by Supriya Rani Das of the Emirates ICC International Panel of Match Referees, thereby avoiding a formal hearing. The on-field umpires Saleema Imtiaz and Shathira Jakir Jesy, along with third umpire Rokeya Sultana and fourth umpire Humaira Farah, leveled the charge.

Level 1 breaches carry a minimum penalty of an official reprimand, a maximum penalty of 50 percent of a player's match fee, and one or two demerit points. In this instance, one demerit point has been added to Gaud's disciplinary record, marking her first offense in a 24-month period.

The Asia Cup Final saw India secure the title for the eighth time after defeating Sri Lanka by 72 runs. Separately, Pakistan was fined five percent of their match fee for maintaining a slow over-rate in the semifinal against Sri Lanka. G.S. Lakshmi of the Emirates ICC International Panel of Match Referees imposed the sanction after Pakistan was found to be one over short of the target. Pakistan captain Fatima Sana admitted to the offense and accepted the sanction, which also did not necessitate a formal hearing.
