UET Lahore to Provide OBE Training and Consultancy to Lahore Universities

Lahore: The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore has announced plans to offer training and consultancy services to faculty members of universities across Lahore to facilitate the implementation of Outcome-Based Education (OBE). This initiative was unveiled during a meeting of Vice Chancellors from Lahore-based universities, chaired by Higher Education Commission (HEC) Chairman, Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar, at Garrison University Lahore.

According to University of Engineering and Technology, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir outlined UET's capacity to assist other universities by offering training in OBE implementation, curriculum development, and program assessment systems. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of practical collaboration between universities, proposing student internships across institutions and suggesting an International Students' Convention with support from the HEC.

HEC Chairman Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar highlighted ongoing transformative initiatives by the Higher Education Commission, focusing on curriculum alignment with emerging needs and the integration of Artificial Intelligence into higher education. The meeting also focused on enhancing inter-university collaboration to promote joint student and faculty opportunities, aiming to elevate Pakistan's higher education standards to a global level.

Participants collectively agreed to strengthen inter-university ties and develop practical frameworks for cooperative academic and research efforts in Lahore.
