Zone VI and Zone III Triumph in Karachi Region Cricket Tournament

Karachi: Zone VI and Zone III claimed significant victories on the second day of the fourth round in the Regional Inter District Senior (Karachi Region) Cricket Tournament, demonstrating strong performances in both batting and bowling. Zone VI defeated Zone VII by an innings and 97 runs, while Zone III overcame Zone II by an innings and 3 runs.

According to Regional Cricket Association Karachi, Zone VI's victory was highlighted by Abdul Basit Ghouri's all-round performance, scoring a century with 122 runs and taking four wickets for 27 runs. The bowlers contributed significantly with Rehman Ghani taking six wickets for 34 runs, Saifullah capturing five for 35 in the first innings, and Muhammad Tariq Khan securing four for 7. In Zone VII's second innings, Muhammad Makki took four wickets for 29 runs, while Saifullah and Muhammad Tariq Khan added to the tally with three wickets each.

At KCCA Stadium, Zone III's win against Zone II was facilitated by Abdul Basit Ghouri's impressive century, scoring 122 runs, and effective bowling by Abdul Basit Ghouri and his teammates. The bowlers ensured Zone II was all out for 220 in their first innings, and 136 in the follow-on innings, leading to their defeat by an innings and 3 runs.

The tournament, organized by the Pakistan Cricket Board, continues to showcase emerging talent within the Karachi region.
