In Harare, Afghanistan's Faisal Khan delivered a commanding performance, scoring 163 runs off 142 balls to propel his team to a formidable 315/7. His innings, featuring 18 fours and a six, is now the highest individual score by an Afghan player in the tournament's history. Despite early setbacks at 27/2, Afghanistan regained control through vital partnerships, particularly a 188-run stand between Faisal and captain Mahboob Khan, who contributed 89 runs. Ireland, in response, struggled to mount a challenge and were bowled out for 124, with Abdul Aziz and Aqil Khan leading Afghanistan's bowling attack.

In Bulawayo, England faced New Zealand, who were already out of semi-final contention. Electing to field, New Zealand restricted England to 234/7, with Ben Dawkins, Ben Mayes, and Caleb Faloner making key contributions.
