KARACHI: Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has extended warm greetings to the nation on the 79th Independence Day, paying tribute to all those who sacrificed for Pakistan and to those who continue to defend its freedom, sovereignty, and dignity.
According to the press release issued by Media Cell Bilawal House, Chairman PPP stated that Pakistan was achieved through the peaceful political struggle and unwavering determination of its people. "Our independence is a sacred trust, earned through sacrifice and sustained through courage, unity, and commitment to the ideals for which Pakistan was created," he said.
Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari called upon the nation to renew its pledge to build a peaceful, prosperous, democratic, and inclusive Pakistan. He highlighted Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah's vision of tolerance, peaceful political struggle, and federal democracy as the nation's guiding light; Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto's people-friendly, worker-friendly, and egalitarian philosophy, embodied in the 1973 Constitution, as a guiding framework; and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto's philosophy of reconciliation and resistance to authoritarianism as a fundamental principle. He also paid tribute to President Asif Ali Zardari's vision of national harmony, understanding, and Pakistan's prosperity.
Chairman PPP emphasized that national unity is Pakistan's greatest strength. He described the international recognition following Marka-e-Haq and Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos as a matter of national pride and termed "Misaq-e-Makkah" a historic chapter in the military and strategic history of the Muslim world.
Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari expressed that Pakistan's destination is a prosperous, democratic, federal, and egalitarian state, where the people of all provinces and regions enjoy equal opportunity and dignity. He reiterated PPP's moral, political, and diplomatic support for the Kashmiri people's right to self-determination. "As a nation, we still have much to accomplish. Let us keep moving forward. We must build a Pakistan where democracy is strong, every citizen is equal, and no family is left behind," he concluded.
