Turbat: The University of Turbat hosted an orientation session on Wednesday for candidates enrolled in short courses aimed at enhancing digital and professional skills, as part of the Balochistan Government's RISE program. This initiative seeks to equip local youth with essential freelancing and technical skills, facilitated by a partnership between the university and the provincial government.

According to University of Turbat, Deputy Commissioner Kech, Yasir Iqbal Dashti, addressed the gathering as the chief guest, emphasizing the government's commitment to improving the professional competence of the region's youth. He described the specialized short courses as a strategic move to align the local workforce with global market demands. Altaz Sakhi, Regional Manager of the Balochistan Rural Support Programme RISE Project, noted a recently signed Memorandum of Understanding between the RISE program and the university, enabling the delivery of market-relevant training.

Dr. Muzaffar Hussain, Dean of the Faculty of Law, praised the government's initiative in his welcome address, underscoring the need to modernize educational frameworks and resources. Ijaz Ahmed, Director of Public Relations at UoT, assured participants of the university's full operational support, with expert instructors ready to guide students through the digital transition.

BRSP's DLO, Suhaila Rashid, provided a detailed briefing on the curriculum, emphasizing the long-term benefits and career opportunities offered by the skills programs. The session concluded with the presentation of the university's annual report to the Deputy Commissioner. Senior university faculty and project officials, including Dr. Muhammad Yaseen, Meer Bahad Baloch, Ghous Bakhsh Baloch, Noor Ahmed, and Sakim Hasan, attended the event.
