Narowal’s Voter Registration Rate Surpasses National Average

Narowal: The district of Narowal has achieved a voter registration rate that stands at 65% of its estimated 2025 population, surpassing the national average by 11 percentage points. This figure places Narowal among the top districts in Pakistan in terms of voter registration rates, ranking 8th nationally and 5th within Punjab.

According to Free and Fair Election Network, the statistics are based on data from the district-wise electoral roll released by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on December 30, 2025, and population estimates from the 2023 Digital Census. The estimated population for Narowal in 2025 is approximately 2,039,734, accounting for a 2.25% annual growth rate from its 2023 population base of 1,950,954. The district is home to 1.3 million registered voters, with 703,812 males (53.4%) and 613,068 females (46.6%).

Narowal's voter registration rate is influenced by specific rules from Pakistan's 2023 Digital Census. Household members absent for more than six months were not counted at their home address, and those living elsewhere were recorded at their current location. This has resulted in a smaller population denominator compared to the number of registered voters, as many of Narowal's residents work in major urban centers but remain registered in their home district.

The gender breakdown of registered voters shows a moderate gap, with female voters comprising 46.6% of the electorate. Despite the strong overall registration rate, efforts to promote equitable female voter registration continue to be crucial for the district.
