Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Appeals for Peace Amidst Azad Jammu and Kashmir Unrest

ISLAMABAD: PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari emphasized the importance of signing the Islamabad accord, calling it a significant event at a time when global attention is on Pakistan. He expressed concerns over the unrest in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, noting its impact on both the Kashmiri cause and Pakistan's international standing.

According to Pakistan Peoples Party, Bhutto Zardari urged protestors to conclude their demonstrations peacefully and advised those who have violated the law to surrender to authorities. He stressed the need for resolving political grievances through democratic and constitutional avenues, highlighting that Parliament and the political process are the appropriate forums for such matters.

Bhutto Zardari reiterated the party's call for the Election Commission to withdraw its early election schedule. He proposed the establishment of a Truth and Reconciliation Commission to address grievances and advance towards a resolution. He underscored that the people of Kashmir should not have to face ongoing cycles of protest and uncertainty.

He further stated that if all stakeholders, including the Federal Government, concur, the AJK Government might review notifications related to protesting parties. While supporting the rule of law, he emphasized that innocent individuals should not suffer due to the actions of others.
