Killa Abdullah Voter Registration Lags Behind National Average

Killa Abdullah: Voter registration in Killa Abdullah stands at 47% of its estimated 2025 population, falling short of the national average of 54%. According to the Free and Fair Election Network, these figures are based on district-wise electoral roll statistics released by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and cross-referenced with population estimates from the 2023 Digital Census.

The district of Killa Abdullah has registered 175,366 voters, comprising 110,753 males (63.2%) and 64,613 females (36.8%). Male voter registration in the district is 56% of the estimated male population, while female registration is notably lower at 36%. Nationally, Killa Abdullah ranks 98th in voter registration rates and 6th within the province of Balochistan.

A significant gender gap is identified as the primary factor for the district's below-average voter registration rate. Women constitute 36.8% of the registered electorate, with 46,140 fewer female voters than male voters. This disparity is attributed to challenges such as restricted mobility, lower female CNIC penetration, and social constraints on civic participation.

Efforts to address these issues are underway, with calls for increased deployment of mobile NADRA units and enhanced ECP outreach through community networks. These measures aim to improve female voter registration ahead of the next general elections.
